  1. Description of training:

Day 1: (29th February, 2016)

Training session was inaugurated by Dr. Rashidun Nessa (Director, Planning & Research, DGHS). After her welcome speech Dr. ATM Iqbal Anwar (Scientist and Project Director, icddr,b) presented the objective of the study titled, “Strengthening capacities of national health authorities and icddr,b for better health policies and strategies for improved outcome” to the audience. After the introductory session, a “pre-test” question paper was given to the participants for assessing their existing orientation about the sessions. After that, the scheduled sessions were conducted by respective facilitators as follow:

The observers and participants provided their feedback in a ‘Training Evaluation Form’ after each interactive session. After the last session, a post test questionnaire was applied to assess the impact of the training session. There was a brief session for open discussion as well. Participants, facilitators and observers reached to consensus on following decisions:

Feedback on the training:

  • Participants suggested that in case of dhis2 data entry, an alternative of statistician should be developed by training from the existing human resource.
  • Participants appreciated the residential program.
  • Practical session should be more emphasized.
  • Regular seat rearrangement of participants for more interaction.
  • Request to the DGHS for increasing honoriam for the participants.
  • Suggestion for organizing training at Upozilla level.

      Closing remarks:

At the end of the training, a certificate of participation was given to all the participants. In closing, Dr. Rashidun Nessa (Director, Planning & Research, DGHS), thanked everyone specially the organizers and participants for the excellent arrangement of the training sessions and concluded the session.

 

The three-day training session was ended at 5.00 pm, 2nd March, 2016.
