  1. Description of training:

Day 1: (23rd August, 2015)

Training session was inaugurated by Dr. Rashidun Nessa (Director, Planning & Research, DGHS). After her welcome speech Dr. ATM Iqbal Anwar (Principal Investigator) presented the “Strengthening capacities of national health authorities and icddr,b for better health policies and strategies for improved outcome” study to the audience. After the introductory session, scheduled sessions were conducted by respective facilitators as follow:

The observers and participants provided their feedback after each interactive session.

Sessions of Day 1 was adjourned at 5.00 pm.

Day 2: (24th August, 2015)

The 2nd day of the training session started with a recap session. After the short recap, scheduled sessions were conducted by respective facilitators as follow:

The observers and participants provided their feedback in a ‘Training Evaluation Form’ after each interactive session. After the last session, there was a brief session for open discussion. Participants, facilitators and observers reached to consensus on following decisions:

  • SWAP (Sector Wise Approach) should be included in the “Health Systems” session
  • Two additional sessions should be included; one on DHIS2 and the other on UHC.
  • The duration of the training should be 3 days instead of two, with allocated time of 1.5 hours for each session.
  • Inauguration & closing ceremony should be avoided for maximizing the time
  • A total of 7 divisional trainings should be residential and organized outside Dhaka (e.g. RDA/BARD-/ Cox’s Bazar)

 

At the end of the training, Dr. Rashidun Nessa (Director, Planning & Research, DGHS), thanked everyone specially the organizers and participants for the excellent arrangement of the training sessions and concluded the session.

 

The two-day training session was ended at 5.00 pm, 24th August, 2015.
