F. <strong>Description of training activities:</strong>
Day 01: May 12, 2018
The training workshop started with welcoming the participants and introduction of all attendees by Dr. ATM Iqbal Anwar followed by sharing training objectives. Afterward, Dr. Nisth Kanti (Divisional Director, Dhaka Division) delivered his welcome speech as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he thanked SHARE project of icddr,b for supporting DGHS to organize this training for health managers on evidence-informed health policy. Dr. Saiful Islam (DPM, Planning, Monitoring & Research, DGHS) was also present in the inaugural session. In his speech, highlighted the importance of the workshop as a collaborative effort of SHARE project of icddr,b and DGHS. He also talked about the content of the workshop.

Participants thoroughly enjoyed the day. During Health systems and policy-making and Overview on HPNSP 2017-21 sessions, participants actively shared their experience and opinion. Participants were confident to evaluate the quality of scientific article after the quality appraisal session.
Day 2: February 26, 2018
The 2nd day of the training session started with a recap -facilitated by Dr. Iqbal Anwar. After the short recap, scheduled sessions were conducted by respective facilitators as follow:

The session on literature search was very participatory. Participants searched for different scientific articles on various topics and themes and also tried searching renowned scientists’ articles by author name during the literature search session. During Urban Health session, participants actively shared their experience and opinion regarding Urban Health Service. Participants enjoyed the session on Universal Health Coverage and shared their experience and opinion.
Day 3: February 27, 2018
After the short recap, scheduled sessions were conducted by respective facilitators as follow:

Participants explored the data on selected indicator of their respective areas through DHIS2 platform and enjoyed the session on Access to Information. They demanded day-long session on DHIS2. Participants actively participated in the sessions of Leadership and Management. Everyone was extremely encouraged and motivated by the presentation of Dr. Emdadul Huq based on case studies of Chowgacha and Jhenadah.

A short closing ceremony followed by certificate distribution was arranged at the end of training sessions. Professor Dr. Nasima Sultana, ADG (Admin), DGHS, Dr. Roseli Huq, Director, Planning, Monitoring & Research, DGHS, Dr. Nisith kanti, Director Health, Dhaka Division, were present in the closing ceremony. All the participants were highly impressed with the training. They stated that as health manager, the learning from this training will be very much beneficial for them in future planning and decision making. Dr. Nisith kanti gave a special thanks to the organizer for arranging such a wonderful residential training at a very wonderful place.

Regarding improving the workshop conducted few participants suggested to design a training session with longer duration i.e. a five-days training instead of 3-days. They also requested for refresher trainings in regular intervals. Participants demanded more practical sessions like.
G. Pre- and –post-test assessment:
Pre- and post-test of the EIPM training was conducted to explore the change in attainment of knowledge in participants. Total score was 20 and duration was 10 minutes. Average marks in the pre-test was 44% which increased in the post test to 78%.
H. Course evaluation:
At the end of the course, an evaluation was conducted to perceive opinion of participants.
